Accomplished chef, Sanjay Mandhaiya, intended to open his 14th Street restaurant four years ago to showcase the brilliance and diversity of ever-evolving Indian cuisines using both modern and ancient techniques.

Job Description:

The Executive Chef is the cornerstone for menu creation, quality control, kitchen management, fiscal management, kitchen safety, and inventory|procurement. As such they are a crucial voice in maintaining the high quality of Pappe's cuisine. This demands a combination of positive energy, proactive style, meticulous organization, and the ability manage a team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure all kitchen operations run efficiently
  • 50-55 hour work weeks
  • Weekly food Inventory
  • Daily Ordering – keeping pars for all food, paper goods, cleaning and sanitization/cleaning chemicals
  • Expedite to ensure product quality, portion quantity
  • Line supervision: Assist at peak times and checking line to ensuring all mise en place before each shift
  • Collaborate with Kitchen and General Managers to create recipes and plan daily items
  • Take guest requests, customize dishes to their dietary restrictions
  • Menu planning for special events
  • Making weekly cleaning schedules
  • Work with prep team and keeping high standards to ensure product consistency
  • Cover shifts for line/prep cooks when necessary
  • Store all food products in compliance with health and safety regulations




Compensation Details

Compensation: Salary ($100,000.00 - $110,000.00)
