SUSHI CHEF (SENIOR LEVEL)

Blue Ribbon Restaurants is proud to bring thirty years of hospitality to Boston  with the opening of our iconic Blue Ribbon Sushi! Located in the Hotel Commonwealth in the heart of Kenmore Square near historic Fenway Park, the restaurant will serve visitors and locals alike, and is deeply committed to being a long-term member of the vibrant Kenmore community.

Blue Ribbon Sushi is seeking for highly experienced, professional Sushi Chefs who are passionate and detail oriented. The ideal candidate is committed to the art and craft of sushi, and has the knowledge and skill set to lead and develop our team of talented Sushi Chefs.

We believe our people are our greatest assets and are excited to welcome new members to our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing Prep Schedule, Orders and Daily inventory.
  • Work with the team to ensure proper set-up and stocking of stations with all necessary supplies.
  • Preparing for service (e.g. vegetables, preparing fish, rice and sauces).
  • Ensure that all Blue Ribbon recipes are maintained at the highest level of quality and consistency.
  • Ensure that all dishes are prepared in a high quality and timely fashion.
  • Work with the team to portion prep work for other shifts.
  • Monitor product freshness and rotate product based on a schedule created by the restaurant.
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with the team and guests.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Positive attitude, friendly, great personality, passionate.
  • Must have minimum 3 years’ experience working with behind a sushi bar.
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Familiar with industries best practices.
  • Must be able to follow all safety, health and sanitation procedures.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and time management skills.
  • Must have experience fabricate big game fish.
  • Must have open availability to work on different shifts, day/night, weekends, and holidays.
  • This is a Full-Time position.

Blue Ribbon Sushi is seeking Full Time and Part-Time Entry Level Sushi Chefs to join our team for this world class opening. We are looking for professional sushi chefs who are passionate, detail oriented and can follow standard recipes. The ideal candidate is committed to the art and craft of sushi and looking to take their skillset to the next level.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a sushi chef.
  • Good knife skills and able to butcher fish and cut sashimi; Make basic sushi rolls.
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Must be able to follow all safety, health, and sanitation procedures.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and time management skills. Positive attitude, friendly, great personality, passionate.
  • Must have open availability to work on different shifts, day/night, weekends, and holidays.
