The Opportunity

Rigor Hill Market is looking for a kind and outgoing Marketeer to join our team. The Marketeer is a key role at Rigor Hill Market, responsible for providing excellent service of all goods (including produce, prepared foods, and coffee), as well as maintaining a pristine storefront throughout opening hours. If you have a passion for local and seasonal products, we encourage you to come work with us. 

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Provide warm and genuine guest service, including but not limited to taking, packing and checking out orders and making beverages (coffee, tea, espresso drinks) 
  • Using our store Point of Sale to process payments and issue gift cards
  • Maintain knowledge of all goods sold in the store, such that you can thoughtfully discuss sourcing and how to use specific ingredients with guests
  • Maintain a beautiful and clean storefront; restock service items and retail goods as needed, keeping an eye on inventory to notify management
  • Expand your knowledge and skills by participating in staff training opportunities
  • Ensure company policies, procedures and brand standards are always followed
  • Follow Health & Safety and Food Safety standards
  • Complete other duties as assigned by management

The Ideal Candidate:

Is a friendly and kind-hearted team player with a sense of urgency and an ability to multitask. Has retail or service experience and knowledge of or interest in cooking and ingredients. Is a true Hospitalitarian that naturally delivers warmth, grace, and a memorable feeling to every person they encounter. Lastly, this person is committed to exceeding personal standards of growth and performance for themselves, and their team.

What we require:

  • A genuine interest in hospitality and good products!
  • Food Handler’s permit (within 30 days of hiring)
  • Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays, and variable schedule, per the needs of the business
  • Ability to walk, stand, and/or bend continuously and for extended periods as required to perform essential functions
  • Ability to perform essential job functions when working under stress, in fast-paced environments
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays, and variable schedule per needs of the business
  • Polished personal presentation: grooming meets Company standards, as outlined by Employee Handbook
  • Relevant experience in a similar capacity is preferred
