The Salt Line Ballston is seeking Host staff.

Ideal candidates obviously bring a natural welcoming positive energy and have strong guest service skills; are highly efficient and organized; are excellent team players; great attention to detail; are self motivated and pro active; and take a genuine pride in providing memorable guest experiences. 

Little bit about us: The Salt Line concept combines the spirit of a New England Style Raw Bar and Fish House with the  bounty of the Chesapeake and the energy of the Nation’s Capital. Building on the success of The Salt Line (DC), Long Shot Hospitality was thrilled to open its second The Salt Line in the bustling and energetic Ballston neighborhood. Opening in October 2021 to immediate accolades and success, The Salt Line Ballston has already established itself as a cornerstone of the Ballston dining scene and community. We are looking for experienced and enthusiastic hosts to join our team and be a part of the continued success for this exciting new addition to the growing The Salt Line family! 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Excellent phone etiquette and ability to manage multiple calls
  • Takes accurate reservations using Open Table
  • Calls customers to confirm reservations
  • Answers the phones and relays efficient messages
  • Greets guests with the upmost hospitality, leads them to tables, pulls out chairs, and provides menus after everyone is seated
  • Ensures that tables are clean and properly set-up before seating guests
  • Work with management to best strategize and maximize seating of guests 
  • Makes sure that menus are clean and current
  • Provides prompt, attentive, professional and friendly (smile)
  • Acknowledges guests as they leave the property
  • Acts as liaison between kitchen and dining room
  • May operate cash register
  • Maintains customer wait lists and quotes accurate wait times
  • Attends required trainings and meetings
  • Delivers an exceptional experience through outstanding hospitality and food service to the guests
  • Maintains a clean and organized host stand
  • Communicates immediately with management regarding any customer problem or complaint

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Must be fully vaccinated or willing to receive first vaccination after hiring
  • Education and/or Experience - No prior experience or training
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations - A valid TIPS Certification recommended
  • Physical Demands - While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods of time. The employee may regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
