Nobody’s Darling is seeking a General Manager (GM) to facilitate the daily operations of the bar and work closely with the bar’s ownership. If you consider yourself to be an experienced manager with bar management and bartending experience, a passion for great cocktails and a desire to cultivate a space of diversity and inclusion, this role may just be for you!
Role and Responsibilities:
The GM will report directly to ownership, upholding the bar’s policies and service standards while overseeing the day to day operations of the establishment. Some responsibilities in this role will include:
Scheduling
- Create a schedule on a weekly/bi-weekly basis, based on Darlings’ availability and adjusting hours as needed.
Daily Operations
- Enter and update the ‘Weekly Schedule’ spreadsheet with daily hours for each employee including allocated credit card & cash tip amounts.
- Ensure staff are meeting their role expectations during each shift to include, but not limited to, glassware is being cleared, guests are being attended to, and bartenders are meeting volume expectations.
- Carry great customer service and speak with patrons to ensure their needs are being met.
- Make sure cash drawers have a mandatory amount of cash for change.
- Ensure polishing towels are stocked before each shift.
- Complete daily credit card tip-split per employee after each shift.
Weekly Operations
- Per weekly inventory and as needed, place orders for spirits, supplies and any additional bar needs.
- Update bar inventory sheet to indicate delivered items.
- Attend weekly meeting with owners and assistant manager.
- Communicate with consultants to coordinate events that may include media outlets/interviews.
- Update bar event calendar.
- Monitor and purchase items for restroom “care baskets” (deodorant, feminine products, restroom spray etc.)
- Monitor and purchase cleaning products for the bar.
- Make deposits into bar bank account.
- Manage private event requests and scheduling.
- Collaborate with the managerial team to create novel events for the bar and community.
Sales Targets & Labor
- Optimize work schedules by analyzing business trends and seasonal needs.
- Use data to determine expected sales goals and apply to track sales per shift.
- Create strategy for growth when sales goals are not met.
- Facilitate seasonal change of menu twice a year
- Build relationships with brands and explore offered/potential partnerships.

- 3+ year(s) of bartending experience
- 3+ year(s) of bar management
- Experience with creating staff schedules
- Familiarity with the management of inventory to include ordering and restock
- A proven knowledge and passion for mixology
- The love for the “rush” of a fast-paced environment and the ability to creatively think under pressure
- Solid customer service skills
- A sense of purpose and satisfaction in bringing joy to others
- The ability to take a “hands on” approach and lead by example
