POSITION TITLE: Maitre D
WAGE: 18/HR + 1.1 weighted tips from whole house tip pool (30% BOH / 70% FOH)
WORK HOURS: 30-40 hours per week

What we re looking for
Terra is looking for a new hospitality and public image leader. This person will be in charge of running our reservation book and managing the door and floor during service. They will also be the front person for our public relations including special events, catering and marketing as well special events and pop ups.
Whats expected of you
This position will involve restaurant floor management as well as public relations. Expectations on the floor are to manage the front door and reservations. This includes reviewing reservations daily, checking voice mail, calling for comfirmations and reviewing reservations at line up. During service the Maitre D will manage the flow of tables into the restaurant as well as provide management and support for the floor team. The Maitre D is the first face that guests sees. They are the leader of the our hospitality and the gate keeper of the Terra experience. Personal skills are essential for this job. This position sets the standard for creating connections with our guests beyond the.
The second part of the job is PR. The Maitre D will assist in marketing campagnes as well maintain relationships with various organizations, local businesses and VIPs. They will have a certain amount of creative license to pursue marketing oppertunities within the overal all scope of Terra's strategy.
The third part of this job is running point on catering and special events. (There will be a significant amount of assistance on this from the General Manager) As part of this the Maitre D will be in charge of checking the restuarants voice mail and house email reguarly, responding to inquiries and organizing BEO's.

Requirements:
At least 21 years of age
Working knowledge of the food and beverage industry, involving at least two years direct industry experience.
Operational knowledge of Toast (for punching in and out)
Knowledge of all required local health and safety requirements.
Be able to communicate respectfully and effectively with those around you
The stamina to work 30 to 40 hours per week 100% on-site environment
Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours)
Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as part of your regular schedule
Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift as much as 50 pounds
Compensation Details
Compensation: Hourly ($18.00 - $20.00) plus tips
Estimated Weekly Tips: $500
