We are looking for a talented Junior Sous Chef to join our team at The Grill Room at Rosewood Washington D.C. in Georgetown!

The historic C& O Canal provides the backdrop for the hotel's signature establishments, where fine American cuisine, exceptional wines, rare spirits and carefully composed cocktails are savored in sophisticated settings. The upscale atmosphere flows outdoors where diners at coveted canal-side tables soak in picturesque views and unwind amid the lively pedestrian hum of the neighborhood. The elegant, yet approachable setting is matched with fresh, flavor-charged seasonal dishes utilizing the finest quality ingredients and local produce.

Singled out by The Washington Post with an "excellent" rating and as a "Top 10 Favorite Restaurant," The Grill Room possesses an exceptional reputation that extends to its desserts and libations.

Responsible for all aspects of managing the kitchen and kitchen personnel, ensuring the quality preparation of all menu items and proper handling/ storage of all food items in accordance with standards. Coordinates the purchase of all food and develops menus, maintaining approved food costs and labor costs.

Job Requirements
Experience: Minimum five years' experience in a similar capacity for a 4 or 5 star hotel or restaurant.
Education: Preferably completed culinary school degree, High school diploma and culinary training certificate; ServSafe certified
General Skills: Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy; prioritize, organize and follow-up; be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment; follow directions thoroughly; understand a guest's service needs; work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team; work with minimal supervision; maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data; work 8-12 hour shifts 5-7 days a week.

Compensation details

Benefits as well as vacation and sick accrual time are available after completion of probationary period (60 days.)
