Valleybrook Country Club is looking for an Assistant General Manager to join our team! In this position you'll work with the General Manager to direct and coordinate all operations on property and support the overall goals and objectives of Valleybrook Country Club.

Responsibilities: 

1. Lead the F&B Manager with ALL aspects relating to the club including, but not limited too: Event Management, Bar Management, assist with staff supervision and training; management and operation of the club and immediate surrounding area; management, supervision, and operation of learning center and golf course.  

2. Oversee the F&B operation on a daily basis which will include, but not be limited to: Food and Beverage Manager, Catering Manager, Executive Chef, Sous Chef. 

3. Oversee sales on a daily basis to include goal setting, strategy, and member relations.  

4. Maintains and grows membership and/or customer base by promoting and handling member / guest concerns and issues.  

5. Ensure open communication and high visibility to members and guests by conducting daily walk-through of club  

6. Ensure that education, training, and teaching programs are being conducted for all employees. 

7. Conduct routine inspections/ audits of the Ballroom and Bar to ensure any necessary upgrades are being reported and communicated to the General Manager. 

8. Attend all relevant meetings to include, but not limited to, Weekly BEO, Monthly Management P&L / Staff meetings, and Course Review / Report meetings. 

9. Assist the General Manager with the creation of the annual budget including revenue analysis, labor, and expense forecast  

10. Work with General Manager to develop Food and Beverage knowledge including the operation of outside F&B, Tavern, and Catering facilities.  

11. Maintain cost controls and conduct monthly inventory review  

12. Keep in mind the financial goals of the club and plan accordingly 

13. Develop and implement creative strategies to increase revenues 

14. Plan and coordinate special events and functions 

15. Assume the roles and responsibilities of the General Manager during their absence 

16. Follows all safety guidelines, conducts regular safety meetings, monitors cash handling procedures, and thoroughly investigates all safety and security concerns  

17. Implements and supports all Ron Jaworski Golf initiatives and programs as requested by management  

18. Other duties as assigned by management   

Qualifications: 

1. Must have 3-5 years related F&B management or Golf Course Management 

2. Proven ability to manage P&L’s and managing budgets  

3. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher 

4. Must have strong business aptitude 

5. Must have strong service orientation 

6. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills 

7. Must be highly organized, efficient and detail-oriented 

8. Must have exceptional interpersonal skills 

Working Conditions: 

1. Employee must be able to lift/handle up to 30 lbs occasionally 

2. Work extended hours during the golf and holiday season 

3. Work weekends and holidays 

4. Work 50+ hours per week during the golf season 

5. Physical activity including long periods of standing, walking, bending 

6. Moderate exposure to extreme cold, heat, working outdoors, pollen, dust, mechanical and electrical hazards.
