ASSISTANT MANAGER POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Assistant Manager with Yakiniku Futago is responsible for leading, educating, motivating and energizing the team to be the BEST Yakiniku restaurant in NYC. Be an active leader within team to deliver exceptional and unforgettable guest experiences to every guest every time!
This position is also responsible for the operations and financial performance of the restaurant. The assistant manager must be able to clearly distill information to staff and the General Manager.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operations Management
- Ensure service is maintained at the utmost of quality levels through proper execution of the sequence of service and high energy; active floor-service participation.
- Maintain overall vision – business and marketing objectives
- Represent Yakiniku Futago in investigating, answering, and settling grievances
- Update and track daily reports for sales & labor.
- Delegate and participate in overall cleanliness according to guidelines of the restaurant.
- Ensure accurate functions of our POS system (Upserve/Lightspeed) and possess expertise/knowledge.
- Be an integral part of streamlining completions of new menu developments.
- Expertly manage/adjust reservations and/or delegate tasks to FOH staff.
- Be an escalated level of communications with guests and inquiries by e-mail and/or by phone.
- Manage monthly inventory numbers to accurately reflect usage, sales and stock.
- Partake in risk management and mitigation strategies
- Maintenance of rewards and data of our ‘Gold Tong’ loyalty program.
Staffing and Team Development
- Analyze staffing requirements, observe and enforce staff duties.
- Participate in interviewing, screening, and recruiting job applicants
- Coach, train and develop hourly staff.
- Responsible for Team performance – morale, productivity, energy
- Manage regular review of performance for Hourly staff within the Performance Management guidelines
- Demonstrate a positive example. No ‘Do as I say, not as I do’ style of leadership.
Fiscal Responsibility
- Able to follow guidelines set by profitability reports and budget limits.
- Keep General Manager informed of sales and key issues
- Participate in increasing sales through marketing, networking and incentives for staff to raise guest check average.
- Maintains budgeted revenues, cost of sales (COS), labor, supplies and operating cash flow (OCF).
- Reviews monthly profit and loss statement and acts on all variances.
- Have oversight of the beverage program and liaise with General Manager on all changes, mandates and controls of beverage costs.
Marketing & Guest Relations
- Contribute to new marketing ideas and concepts with management team.
- Interested in and keen at business and marketing analytics.
- Maintain relationships with “regulars”, VIPs, influencers and key people in the industry.
QUALIFICATIONS/PRIMARY JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 2 years professional hospitality experience.
- Expert knowledge of all Restaurant computer systems.
- Excellent management, delegation and presentation skills.
- Strong influence, interpersonal, leadership, managerial, communication, problem solving and creative solution generation skills.
- Decent financial acumen and proficient knowledge in budgets and P&L.
- Leads by example and ability to maintain loyalty to company standards.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $60,000.00 incentive program.
