Busy New York style delicatessen in Center City Philadelphia is seeking a full time general manager to oversee both the front and back of house operations. Attention to detail, strong work ethic and a love of customer satisfaction are all required. Deli and/or diner experience is a must.

Core Responsibilities

• Hire, train and supervise all staff
• Coordinate employee schedules
• Ensure company protocols are being followed
• Ensure all food safety procedures are strictly adhered to according to sanitary regulations and maintain safe working conditions
• Ongoing menu development
• Order supplies and food
• Manage food costs, inventory and labor to meet budgetary and revenue objectives
• Follow company policies and procedures regarding the handling of cash, property, products and equipment
• Analyze profit & loss statements to maximize profits for restaurant
• Develop standardized systems and processes for efficiently running the restaurant
• Resolve customer complaints
• Implement strategies to improve sales
• Work with the marketing team to promote the restaurant

Qualifications and Skills Required

• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as needed
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Exceptional organization and leadership skills
• Team player who is dependable and reliable
• Able to understand profit & loss statements and work from a budget
• Willingness to think outside the box and be a creative thinker and problem-solver
• 5+ years of restaurant experience with at least a few years of management experience
