Located in the heart of the nation’s capital, The University Club was founded in 1904 and is one of the nation’s most historic city clubs. Just steps from the White House, the Club contains seven indoor and outdoor dining venues, 60 guest rooms, two squash courts, one pool, one full-service day spa, a newly renovated fitness complex, and special event venues. The hallmarks of our Club are elegance and tradition, athletics, sociability, and a celebration of intellectual pursuits.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Setup, breakdown and maintain a clean and stocked station by executing all opening, running and closing sidework. This includes, but is not limited to, prepping mis en place, organizing coolers, wiping down all equipment.
- Adhere to all recipes including proper measurements, ingredients, and garnishes.
- Prepare protein counts, produce orders, etc. on a nightly basis.
- Maintain supportive and cooperative relationship with the front of house (FOH) staff.
- Understand and follow the food allergy procedure and special orders/restrictions.
- Understand and adhere to sanitation/safety guidelines and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Education and/or Experience:
- At least 2 years of fine dining experience.
- Ability to speak, read, and understand both oral and written instructions in English language.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Thorough knowledge of safe food handling practices and DOH standards.
