Hinoki & the Bird, in Century City, is now accepting applications for a qualified Host. Inspired by travels all across the globe, our menu is best described as modern California cuisine with strong influences from the Silk Road. We offer innovative dishes featuring only the freshest of ingredients. Guests at Hinoki & the Bird enjoy a Michelin Star dining experience in a modern, upscale casual atmosphere.
Job Summary:
The host role is to act as the first impression to our diners. We’re searching for someone who is warm, welcoming, and very guest oriented.
Required Experience:
• Minimum 1 year upscale host experience
• Previous Yelp reservation system experience a plus
• Must have excellent knowledge of fine dining room and service procedures and functions
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
• Open availability; must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
• Possess strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Outstanding guest services skills
• Be able to communicate clearly and effectively (verbal & written)
• Professional presentation and positive attitude
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
•Frequent standing and walking throughout shift
•Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
•Ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps

Compensation: Hourly ($17.00 - $19.00)
