Job Description

PRESCRIPTION CHICKEN, a women founded AND women run business is looking for AWESOME people to join our team in the Shaw neighborhood of DC!

A little about us:

Everyone knows that chicken soup is more or less liquid gold....and warm and comforting soup can practically cure anything that ails you. That's what Prescription Chicken is all about: we’re dedicated to making and serving the BEST chicken soup and getting it to people as quickly as possible. We are open 7 days a week serving guests directly (to-go orders only) as well as fulfilling orders through online delivery platforms. It is a fast-paced environment and we’re looking for some AWESOME people to come work and grow with us!

A little about you:

You are dedicated, reliable, and show up to work with a smile and ready to GO. You have fun and make light of hectic situations. You are relaxed, can go with the flow, and want to be a part of an amazing small business that provides a liquid comfort to soup fans around the DMV.

As a Matzah Baller you can expect to see/do some of the following (subject but not limited to):

1. Get the store ready for open, or close the store down respectively

2. Follow checklists, build cards and strict recipes to maintain food quality and consistency

3. Adhere to proper food handling, safety and sanitation procedures and all RxChicken standards

4. Fulfill online orders from 5 different platforms in a timely, organized and clean manner

5. Restock stations and keep them clean and organized

6. Take inventory, keep track of quality and quantity of our products, make pars on food items

7. Take ownership of your station throughout every shift

8. Adapt to change: solve problems and use your resources first before seeking help!

9. Be able to stand on your feet 6-8hrs at a time

10. Be able to lift 50lbs or more

11. Keep the kitchen, dining room and restrooms clean and organized

12. Provide us with 20+ hours of availability per week (including nights and weekends!)

a. We know you have commitments to your friends, family, school, or sports teams—we get it and want to work WITH you. That said, we do also request flexibility in scheduling!

13. Must follow all COVID-19 safety precautions to provide a safe environment for our staff and guests.

14. Ability to use a knife, peeler, and other kitchen tools.

15. Thrives in a teamwork environment.

Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly (Based on Experience)
