James Beard nominated Chef Dale Talde is elevating traditional Cantonese fair with Goosefeather, the first concept from Food Crush Hospitality, a partnership between him and his wife, Agnes.
Guests can expect a unique and flavorful dining experience, as Dale pays tribute to the cuisine of Hong Kong, with a focus on noodles, Cantonese barbecue and dumplings. Additionally, the beverage menu at Goosefeather offers an array of traditional offerings with a Hong Kong twist.
The Opportunity
The Assistant General Manager will work alongside the General Manager to ensure service standards are met and guide the restaurant in refining and maintaining systems for inventory, ordering, staff scheduling, event planning and maintenance.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading the front-of-house team before, during, and after service to ensure the highest standards of service. Recognizing and cultivating relationships with current and future regulars.
- Developing and refining systems for staff training and education, as well as offering ongoing feedback, and creating pathways for professional development.
- Active involvement in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training new staff.
- Helping to oversee inventory, ordering and scheduling for front-of-house operations.
- Creating and refining Standard Operating Procedures for daily restaurant operations, including POS upkeep, ordering, internal and external email communication, budgeting, and storage.
- Contributing to employee training materials, and participating in the ongoing process of training, coaching, and developing our hourly staff.
- Opening duties, including but not limited to, leading pre-shift meetings, liaising with the kitchen to stay informed on menu changes and service notes, adjusting staffing according to cover counts and spread of reservations, ensuring service staff and dining room are prepared for service.
- Active participation during service, including directing the flow of service, providing direction, and delegating responsibilities, running food and beverages, and communicating with the kitchen and door teams. Overseeing service and attending to technical or facilities issues as they arise. Taking steps to course correct any negative guest experiences.
- Closing duties, including but not limited to, recording staff tips and hours, reconciling cash, writing service recap, checking service team closing duties and performing a final walkthrough of the restaurant.
- Helping to develop systems and resources such as opening and closing checklists, supply pars, etc. that will contribute to the overall efficiency and organization of the restaurant.
- Creating a positive work environment and strong bridge between front-of-house and back-of-house teams.
Requirements:
- May be required to lift, carry, push, or pull heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.The ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal direction.
- Flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to walk, stand, and/or bend continuously and for extended periods as required to perform essential job functions.
- At least two years of hospitality management experience in a comparable setting.
- Extensive food and beverage knowledge.
- Exceptional organizational focus with a penchant for building out efficient systems.
- Administrative proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Excel/Word.
