QB Hospitality is a growing multi-functional restaurant group that currently owns and operates several well-known establishments in NYC, including Angelina Bakery, Antoya Korean BBQ, and Katherine Cocktail Bar. We are growing our team based in NYC and looking for Line Cooks to join the opening team of our newest high-end Korean steakhouse restaurant, Anto. We are fast-paced, highly collaborative, and have a friendly, flexible work environment.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Line cooks are responsible for always delivering the highest quality food and service. They are responsible for daily operational procedures and are responsible for food production and plating in accordance with company recipes, specs and timing standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Report to the Executive Chef and Sous Chefs and follow instructions.
- Set up and stock food items and other necessary supplies.
- Prepare food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces.
- Cook food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.
- Clean and sanitize cooking surfaces at the end of the shift.
- Perform inventory checks and complete food storage logs.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 2+ years experience as a prep or line cook in a high volume, detailed cooking, fast-paced kitchen (or comparable)
- Effective communication skills and ability to take direction from supervisors
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
- Must have excellent knife skills, proficiency in detailed cooking
- Ability to work in a clean, organized, and efficient manner as a team member
- Ability to lift, pull, push, carry up to 50 pounds/ stand for extended periods of time
- Flexible to work weekdays, weekends, nights and public holidays
- Korean cuisine experience a plus
