Events by RHC is looking to hire a Lead Pastry Cook.

Pastry Chef Responsibilities:

• Operating and managing the pastry section of the kitchen and liaising with the executive chef to ensure a successful working environment.
• Executing pastry orders for catered events and accommodating special requests
• Preparing ingredients and handling baking and other kitchen equipment.
• Creating enticing confectionery decorations and pastry fillings, as well as keeping abreast of new pastry baking techniques
• Adding novel, creative, and delicious pastry items to the existing selection
• Hiring, training, and supervising pastry section staff, as well as adhering to food industry regulations
• Monitoring equipment and ensuring all specialized pastry baking tools are in working order
• Maintaining a good running order of specialized pastry baking equipment

Pastry Chef Requirements:

• Associate degree in baking and pastry arts, or similar preferred 
• 5 years or more, of experience as a pastry cook, baker, or similar
• Knowledge of baking techniques and the pastry-making process
• Creative ability with artistic skill in decorating cakes and other desserts
• Keen attention to detail
• Flexible working hours, including weekends and evenings, when required
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Be a role model and lead by example in terms of professionalism, positive attitude, taking initiative, work ethic, work performance, etc.
