Job Title: Floor Manager/Maitre d' for Natural Wine Bar
We're looking for a Floor Manager/Maitre'D to join our team. This is a key role working directly with our GM, Exec Chef and owners to uphold service standards and hospitality for the FOH team during evening service. Ideally you have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the restaurant industry, have great interpersonal and communication skills and a solid understanding and genuine interest in natural wine.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead pre-shift line up in timely and engaging way
- Direct the flow of service throughout the evening and maintain a warm, energetic culture
- Lead and exemplify wine service standards - all servers should be able to guide guests through an enjoyable and interesting experience with our wines
- Uphold and refine steps of service, provide direction and feedback to staff when needed
- Recognize and cultivate relationships with current and potential regulars. Maintain resy notes and status on guests with goal of building meaningful relationships and vibe
- Alongside management, help train, develop and mentor new and current staff
- Point person for managing large party reservations and private events. Manage logistics and execute with staff
- Help plan and run special events (chef pop ups, winemakers in house etc)
- Attend weekly management meetings
About you:
- 5+ years experience in the restaurant industry, including serving and hosting.
- Knowledge of natural wine
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - able to communicate openly and honestly
- Curious and motivated, leads by example
- Able to lead and inspire a team
- Clean and organized with ability to multitask
