NPK Hospitality is searching for an AGM/Operations Manager to join our team for a new concept opening in Logan Square. Bad Habit, a cocktail focused bar will be opening soon in Logan Square. The ideal candidate will be a creative and energetic professional with previous FOH management experience and have a good understanding of the neighborhood. This individual will report to the General Manager/Director of Operations and assist, when necessary, with staffing, inventory and ordering. The majority of this position will be spent on the floor overseeing the elevated customer experience and ensuring good communication between Back of House (BOH) and Front of House (FOH). Responsibilities will also cross over into two additional related concepts which are Stay Cafe and Smoke & Mirrors.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist management team with staffing, hiring, inventory, etc.
- Assist on all 3rd party app orders including packing and handing off to delivery staff or guests
- Oversee organization and efficiency of service in the dining room and bar
- Keep up with knowledge of food and drink menu items as well as industry trends
- Supervise staff in opening procedures, guest service, and closing procedures
- Enhance and strengthen guest relationships, both established and new, delivering excellent guest services including personally greeting guests, seating them, and touching tables during service
- Resolve guest complaints in a polite, friendly manner and follow up when necessary
- Report and file all escalated situations to Upper Management
- Promote cooperative efforts, team spirit, and morale among employees
- Communicate and handle potential allergens with FOH staff and guests
- Manage nightly cash handling/service staff close-out procedures
- Reinforce company policies
- Utilize a "lead by example" approach to maintain point of service standards
- Maintain proper Department of Health conditions in all areas of the restaurant, cultivating good habits among the staff
- Understand the restaurant ambiance and curate the experience with the management team
- Perform daily End of Day (E.O.D.) report detailing all important information
Minimum Qualifications
- Must have 2 years management experience
- Must have 2 years working with a strong mixology program
- Strong hospitality and guest service skills
- Ability to coordinate multiple activities with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Must be flexible with schedule and ability to work different shifts,
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Ability to move or handle equipment throughout the restaurant (generally between 0-50 lbs.)
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as the dictates. Weekends and nights will be required.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
