Job Overview:

The General Manager is responsible for managing the direction and organization of:

- the Restaurant, Bar, Patio, and the Private Dining Room 

- the Rooftop Pool & In-Room Dining

with an emphasis on delivering outstanding guest service, employee productivity, and financial profitability.  The GM is responsible for increasing sales and minimizing costs, ensuring increasing profitability within the Restaurant outlets.  Working alongside the Director of Restaurants, Service Director, and Chef de Cuisine.  The GM supports all aspects of guest service, food and beverage quality, inventory management, outlet reservations and occupancy, systems management, budget and forecasting.  The Director oversees front of the house management, monitoring and developing team member performance including providing supervision, training, coaching, recognition, reward, discipline, and conflict resolution. In addition, the GM also spearheads compliance with health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standards.

Restaurant & Bar Managers and all FOH line staff

  • Director of Restaurants, F&B Managers, HR, Payroll, Accounting, Reservation, Events, Sales, Catering, Reservations 

External:

  • Hotel guests, visitors, vendors, special events guests, entertainers

Work Area:

Qualifications and Requirements:

Essential:

  • Understanding: Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions according to established procedures

  • Comprehension: Fluent in the English language

  • Organizational Skills: Works efficiently, utilizes a multi-tasking mindset, prioritizes tasks

  • Hygiene and Sanitation: Adherence & Enforcement of uniform, grooming and personal hygiene standards and expectations per Standard of Operating Procedures

  • Punctuality: Adherence & Enforcement of posted schedules, arrival time and attendance at mandatory meetings 1

  • Responsibility: Personal comportment in line with The Loren Hotels policies, standards, and expectations

  • Strong communication, organization, and management skills

  • Knowledge of Micros, Microsoft Office, etc.. 


Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Directly responsible for guest needs and service in restaurant and related areas of hotel

  • Adhere to and collaborate on operating goals and objectives

  • Prepare, implement, and/or innovate standard operating procedures

  • Recruit and process staff for 8th floor F&B outlets where and when necessary

  • Initiate and complete training of floor staff, including all required documentation and tests

  • Work closely with Restaurant Management Team regarding matters of reporting, ordering and controls 

  • Responsible for proper training materials for new floor hires inclusive of SOPs, testing, and auditing

  • Maintain positive online feedback - OT 4.6 or higher

  • Be a brand ambassador for the hotel and restaurant when out in Austin and beyond.  

  • Comply with and maintain The Loren Hotels Brand Standards within Food and Beverage operation

Specific Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for supporting Restaurant Management Team in appearance and upkeep of the 8th floor F&B outlets, including FF&E, OS&E, Payroll and Monthly Budget.

  • Responsible for quality of service presented to all guests of 8th floor F&B


Employee Direction: 

  • Lead shifts in Nido Restaurant and ensure there is sufficient coverage for all shifts.

  • Maintain & create new VIP and repeat customer relationships 

  • Ensure all Floor Staff side work is satisfactorily completed pre and post shift. 

  • Ensure Floor Staff are performing to standard during shift, if not over and above.  

  • Continue to train staff on product knowledge, protocol and any policy/procedure changes.

  • Oversee floor staff, ensuring that they adhere to conduct requirements as per Employee Handbook/SOPs.

  • Act as the lead in writing SOP’s and delegating duties to floor staff to facilitate day-to-day operation of the Restaurant and be able to fulfill other duties as assigned my management (see above).

Pay: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
