Job Details

We are seeking Sous Chefs to join our team for a new opening!

Lupetto, which means “little wolf” in Italian, is a new, upcoming wood-fired Italian restaurant set in a sophisticated urban setting on the corner of 25th and Broadway. The restaurant is inspired by the tradition of wood fired hearth cooking in Italy, with Chefs Michael Berardino (dell'anima, Rubirosa) and Matt Spivey (Maialino) leading the culinary program. Lupetto will feature Neapolitan style pizza from a wood oven, meat and fish from a wood grill, house-made pastas, and an expansive beverage program featuring the premier wine producers from around the world and a lush craft amari cocktail lounge on the cellar level. The restaurant will have 175 seats set over two floors, and additional outdoor seating later in the summer.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the kitchen personnel
  • Ensure the quality preparation of all food items and all proper handling/storage of all food items in accordance with applicable standards
  • Food Cost
  • Labor Cost
  • Staff Development & Training
  • Kitchen Maintenance
  • Coverage
  • Compliance with OSHA, local health and safety codes as well as Company safety and security policies

Requirements:

  • Background in wood cooking
  • Minimum of 2-4 years experience as Sous Chef in upscale, high volume restaurant
  • Availability to work nights, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to lift 30+ pounds
  • Certification in NYC Food Protection License required
