Servers

A serving position at World Cafe Live offers a great opportunity for a talented, creative, and energetic hospitality professional to bring their dedication and excitement to two unique spaces in Philadelphia. The World Cafe Live footprint includes both The Lounge (a restaurant and bar that accommodates 140 seated or 220 standing), and The Music Hall that comfortably seats 300 and expands to accommodate 650 standing. The Front of House team will oversee every aspect of guests needs for full service during all events. This includes a la carte service and catering opportunities.

Servers will be part of team reporting directly to the Director of Operations and the Food & Beverage Managers with full support from the Director of Food & Beverage. This is a part-time hourly position with possibility for full time hours as needed.

Primary Duties

greet, take orders, and support all guests dining needs in The Lounge and Music Hall for all events
meet all standards of service for the best guest experience
prep and maintain all necessary supplies for service
stay informed on current menu offerings and relevant beverage details
maintain ServSafe and RAMPS certification and enforce and maintain all Office of Food Protection Health and Safety and PLCB standards
support peers and management in providing the safest and most positive work environment

The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:

Positive attitude, especially in challenging situations
Team oriented mindset, with the ability to work indepenently
Minimum of two years of experience in high volume hospitality service
Ability to multi-task in a high-paced atmosphere
Ability to work for 8 hours in a row and lift 50lbs
Availability to work flexible hours primarily including nights and weekends
Appreciation for independent, small business and live music

Compensation: This is an hourly part-time position for approx. 15-35 hours a week with a base hourly rate of $7.25/hour for a la carte service and $23/hour for catering service (plus any additional tips directly paid out during service). Additional benefits available with full-time status after an average of 28 hours/week.
