James Beard Award-winning restaurateur Stephen Starr is expanding further in the Washington, DC market adding to already existing and successful restaurants Le Diplomate and St. Anselm, respectively. We are thrilled to share the opening of El Presidente to the Union Market area of Northeast DC and are in search of industry professionals who are excited to be part of a highly anticipated restaurant opening with an established hospitality group that offers long-term career advancement and professional growth opportunities.
If you are a lead-by-example Executive Chef with strong culinary skills and the desire to lead and mentor a large, diverse team providing exceptional dishes with care and consistency– we want to hear from you!
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of 7 years of progressive culinary management experience in well-rated restaurants
- Prior experience opening a new restaurant is a plus
- Prior experience and proficiency in structuring and expediting a high-volume kitchen
- Experience hiring, training, and mentoring salaried managers and hourly BOH staff
- Strong financial acumen with the proven ability to oversee cost control, labor management, and bottom-line profitability
- Flexible and adaptive to rapidly changing priorities and work demands
- Strong written and computer skills
- Ability to mentor, motivate and drive performance and results of a diverse culinary workforce
