ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (including but not limited to):
• Extensive experience managing a large, diverse staff with an emphasis on, hiring, training, coaching, and cultivating a teamwork atmosphere
• Responsible and manage daily operations for the facilities' day-to-day operations
• Enforce restaurant standards, policies, and procedures with all managers and staff
• Manage the quality of service and overall guest experience by "on-the-floor" involvement with staff and guests
• Return business telephone calls, emails, SMS, and answer correspondence
• Provide accurate daily reports and feedback on performance and sales to the management team
• Attend and/or conduct weekly, monthly, and quarterly meetings
• Manage staffing levels and create schedules that support customer service and daily operations within budget
• Ensure an efficient work environment by managing customer and employee complaints, modifying procedures and processes to meet deadlines
• Ensures the accuracy, completion, and reconciliation of all financial transactions
• Ensures all financial goals and budgets are met
FINANCIAL REPORTING AND ANALYSIS
• Weekly reporting on sales to budget
• Weekly reporting on labor to budget for the BOH and FOH with ownership
• Review monthly with ownership, and financial trending to strategize on any needed improvements and opportunities
• Monthly reporting and comments for the P and L close to ownership
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Minimum 2+ years of Restaurant Management experience in a high volume (over $4m per year in sales)
• Extensive food, wine, and spirits knowledge is required
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Word/Excel, Google Docs, POS systems
• Excellent skills with all reservation systems (ie. OpenTable, Yelp Reservations, Resy, Tock)
• Punctual and reliable attendance; flexible to work schedule including weekends and holidays
• Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with staff, management team, and the public
• Ability to manage effectively in a fast-paced environment; maintain composure under adverse conditions
• Ability to motivate staff and maintain a cohesive team
• Ability to coach, train, discipline, and mentor staff
• Strong problem-solving and team-building skills
• Strong knowledge of customer service techniques
• Strong operational background and knowledge
• Frequently stand for prolonged periods of time over the course of an 8-hour day
• Must have ServSafe California Food handlers certification
• Performs other duties as needed
MEASUREMENT OF SUCCESS:
• Communication: Consists of exchanging routine information and processing necessary paperwork as needed
• Field procedural questions, receiving and disseminating requested information, conveying the results of meetings, giving or receiving routine information over the phone, processing mail, reading reports, writing reports/memos/letters, and routine financial reporting and general desk work
• Accurately and timely analyze/prepare budgets on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
• Meet or exceed monthly budgets and goals on a regular basis for all categories: Sales, Labor, Cost of Goods Sold, fix and variable expenses
• Submit all reports on time and ensure accurate data and records 100% of the time
• Understands the financial aspects of the business and sets goals and measures and documents staff progress and success
• Motivating/reinforcing, disciplining, managing conflict, staffing, and training/developing of staff
• Ability to create an environment in which employees will experience positive morale and recognition
• Helps employees grow and develop their skills and capabilities through education and on-the-job learning
• Lead by example and provides recognition when others do the same
