Seeking friendly and energetic hosts that enjoy providing quality service and genuine hospitality.

We are seeking full-time Hosts who are interested in providing a singular and seamless experience for our guests, from greeting to farewell. A professional and courteous demeanor, a genuine interest in hospitality, and showing our guests a fantastic time are all required.  Great phone and email communication is a must, as well as the ability to use iPad or tablets to process guest reservations.  We prioritize candidates with a huge smile and the ability to work both days and nights in indoor and outdoor venues; we can teach you the rest. 

May perform other job duties as they arise

Must be able to:  lift 40 lbs, bend, reach, walk and stand for extended periods of time

  • Weekends required (including Sundays)
  • 3 shifts per week minimum (part-time); 30 hours/week full-time

Wax Myrtle's is an upscale bar, club, pool, and restaurant open to locals and visitors alike. Under the direction of Chicago-based restaurant group Land and Sea Dept., the expansive indoor and outdoor space is designed for guests to gather, relax, and socialize. In addition to the pool, which will be exclusive to hotel guests and residents, a deck, covered cabanas, an oversized fireplace, and monthly programming, Wax Myrtle’s will feature an approachable menu with contemporary American dishes. Located at 506 San Jacinto Blvd, Wax Myrtle’s will be open to hotel guests, residents of the Sienna residential tower, and the public, and offer a laid-back getaway in the center of downtown.

Land and Sea Dept. is a Chicago-based concept and project development studio working creatively and passionately across disciplines. Its principals – Cody Hudson, Jon Martin, Robert McAdams and Peter Toalson – have collective decades of involvement in the fields of art, construction, design, event production, identity, marketing, music, and woodworking. Their experience allows them to apply their unique creative perspectives across a variety of applications and constantly develop new concepts. Land and Sea Dept. has completed a broad range of projects (art exhibitions, film screenings, live concerts, bars, restaurants, structural designs, and more), including some of Logan Square’s best-loved establishments: Michelin-starred Longman & Eagle, Parson’s Chicken & Fish, and Lost Lake, and most recently, Lonesome Rose. As well as four restaurant concepts within the restored and reimagined Chicago Athletic Association: the James Beard Award-Winning Cherry Circle Room, Game Room, Drawing Room, and Milk Room.
