L’ Avant-Garde Restaurant – Chef de Partie Job Description
Overview of Role: Responsible for overseeing and maintaining the designated station while on the line. This position is responsible for preparing, stocking, storing, and rotating products accordingly. Organization, timing, and proper food handling are vital for this role.
Reports to: Michelin Star Executive Chef / Chef team
Job Overview
- Cook and prepare all menu items in accordance standards set by the Chef team
- Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food product on the line
- Prepare and portion food items prior to service
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment at all times while following sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Report and follow instructions from the Chef team
- Maintain a properly clean station and ensure all product is properly stored
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with guests and colleagues
Qualifications:
- 1-3+ years of similar experience in a fine dining environment
- Solid understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
- Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks. A sense of urgency is a must!
- Familiar with industry’s best practices
- Proactive attitude with strong organizational and time management skills
