H+F Burger and Hop's Chicken at Ponce City Market is hiring a talented and ambitious Sous Chef who shares our passion for impeccable culinary and hospitality standards! 

Located in Ponce City Market, H+F Burger believes in being mighty.  Mighty good, mighty welcoming and always mighty delicious.  From our burgers to our milkshakes, everything is made with the highest quality ingredients.  Right next door to H+F Burger is Hop’s Chicken, our spot to enjoy delicious fried chicken with all the fixings.  Our guests can grab a bucket of chicken and enjoy it with their families at home or at a picnic on the Beltline!  We have something for everyone!

Summary of Position
The Sous Chef is a highly skilled position which plays an important role in maintaining positive experiences for our team and our guests.  The Sous Chef will lead the kitchen through successful services upholding excellence in every aspect of the guest experience. They will work in a supervisory role, coordinating closely with the BOH leadership team to support the vision of the restaurant while overseeing both food and staff. They will maintain a thriving and profitable organization of trained and passionate people celebrating hospitality and creativity while ensuring the consistency of carefully tailored recipes and the deliciousness of each dish our guests receive.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain a working knowledge of all recipes, products and production procedures
  • Ensure consistency and deliciousness of all menu items
  • Conduct ongoing training to ensure staff members are upholding core values and standards
  • Ensuring food cost goals are met
  • Monitor kitchen safety and cleanliness and assist to correct maintenance issues
  • Nurture farmer and purveyor relationships for best product and cost
  • Oversee weekly inventory including ordering, receiving, re-stocking and coding

Education/Experience

  • Culinary degree preferred
  • Have at least 5+ years of kitchen leadership experience in fine dining restaurants
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Food safety knowledge
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook 365 and Excel
  • Passion for food, beverage and hospitality is required
  • Possess excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask, manage time and prioritize

Compensation: Salary ($50,000.00 - $60,000.00)

Hop’s Chicken began as a Sunday special served at Restaurant Eugene, and has quickly become a local fried chicken favorite.
