NoHo Hospitality Group is seeking a POOL GENERAL MANAGER to join the team at THE WILLIAM VALE, a luxury boutique hotel in the heart of Brooklyn's most desired neighborhood, Williamsburg.
The Pool General Manager is a key leadership role who will oversee the entire operation of the Vale Pool and Terrace. The Pool General Manager will take ownership in providing a lively yet comfortable experience for all visitors to the Vale Pool and Terrace. The ability to efficiently direct and manage staff in multiple departments (i.e., food & beverage, housekeeping, security, front office/concierge, and lifeguards) while controlling the overall service flow and inventory will be key to success.
The William Vale Pool, the longest outdoor hotel pool in Brooklyn and greater New York City, is a popular destination that attracts a high volume of visitors throughout the season. The William Vale includes Westlight, a rooftop bar with an elevated bar dining menu inspired by New York City's street food, Leuca, a Southern Italian restaurant featuring wood-fired coastal dishes, and Mister Dips, a retrofitted Airstream serving burgers, fries and dairy dips as well as a multi-faceted banquet and catering department.
Ideal candidates possess:
- Minimum of (1) years of hospitality management experience
- Minimum of (1) year of food & beverage experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher encouraged
- Outstanding organizational and time management processes
- Exhibits a high level of professionalism in all interactions/situations.
- Ability to develop, plan, and implement short and long-range goals
- Reliable and have a sense of urgency with email communications and follow up
- Must be strategic and have strong business acumen
- Red Cross certification in CPR/First Aid and Life guarding. Must have the ability to carry, pull and maintain lounge chairs as well as other pool deck equipment such as towel bins, weighing up to 100 pounds.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and control the inventory of all available rental options (i.e., cabanas, pergolas, daybeds, chaise lounge chairs, etc.)
- Oversee, direct, and service pool bars and seating areas to ensure it meets the standards
- Conduct pre-shift meetings and liaise information to employees
- Execute long and short range financial strategies related to rentals
- Work with Concierge/Front Office to ensure that hotel guests have a pleasant experience
- Partner with the senior leadership team to analyze, plan, and execute operational strategies
- Collaborate with Director of Cultural Programming for successful execution of events at the Vale Pool & Terrace.
- Ensures that the cleanliness of the pool deck is maintained at all times
- Supervise and maintain par stock level as per inventory for all supplies and linen
- Ensures good safety practices of employees and guests on pool deck, assist in the maintenance of proper emergency and safety procedures, and oversee the security team
- Maintain high quality standards in regards to food and beverage presentation, sanitation and pool safety
