Job Details

A Lebanese-Middle Eastern restaurant is seeking an experienced Pastry Chef.  The Pastry Chef is responsible for all aspects of managing and leading the pastry kitchen personnel, ensuring the quality preparation of all pastry items, and all proper handling/storage of all food items in accordance with standards. They follow existing recipes, and prepare large quantities of breads, pastries, and so much more throughout the day. We deliver great food, warmth, happiness, smiles and exceptional customer service one Pastry at a time. We strive to provide exceptional guest service and hospitality. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operating the business in accordance with the company policies and applicable laws.
  • Maintain a clean and well-groomed personal appearance in accordance with Company’s Personal Appearance and Attire Standards Policy.
  • Ensure proper hand-washing and hygiene to protect food safety.
  • Ensure compliance with health, food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Maintain a sense of urgency, high intensity, attention to detail and organized workspace.
  • Demonstrate proper and safe use of all tools and equipment: Knife, Bread Slicer, Microwave, Scales, Proofer, Oven and Freezer and Walk-In Refrigerator.
  • Monitor oven temperatures, speed settings, and other baking equipment.
  • Total understanding of proper pastry methods, techniques and standards.
  • Prepares and cooks all kinds of deserts according to recipes of all kitchen sub-sections.
  • Mixes, kneads and shapes dough to make pies, cakes, cookies and other pastries.
  • Follows the instructions and recommendations from the immediate Superiors to complete the daily tasks.
  • Ensure exceptional product by following recipes, understanding prep procedures and maintaining raw materials quality.
  • Properly bake and finish products as outlined in the Product Reference Guide.
  • Communicate shortages or surpluses of prep items with management.
  • Sharp attention to detail.
  • Maintains operations by preparing policies and standard operating procedures; implementing production, productivity, quality, and patron-service standards; determining and implementing system improvements
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned throughout your tenure and understand they may change when the business grows and clients develop loyalty to the establishment.

Requirements:

  • 5  year’s experience as a pastry chef
  • Having strong attention to detail and the ability to retain and clearly articulate details of the bakery products 
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Results-oriented and impeccably organized
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines
  • Ability to perform tasks with accuracy, speed, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a standing position for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours).
  • Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, lifting, carrying and stooping
  • May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 40 lbs
