Serve as Executive Assistant to Chef/Owner Mads Refslund and General Manager Will Douillet, supporting back and front-of-house teams while helping to shape and nurture the culture of a new company.  Help foster a “best in class” employee and memorable guest experience. Acclaimed Chef Mads Refslund, co-founder of Noma, is opening his first solo project in Greenpoint and this position is a key role on the core opening team. The Executive Assistant supports the Senior Leadership Team by helping to ensure smooth functioning of the restaurant’s systems and guest experience throughout opening year and beyond. We are looking for someone to grow with us, who shares a deep love of gastronomy and providing memorable experiences, as well as an innate sense of professionalism, attention to detail, and creative problem-solving. Must be a “people person” who excels at communication (written and verbal), loves organization (including implementing and maintaining systems) but also a flexible thinker excited to help turn dreams into reality. This position is located in-person at Ilis restaurant (opening spring 2023) in Greenpoint.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide strategic support to restaurant owners and  management team, helping to ensure smooth functioning of restaurant systems through behind-the-scenes coordination. 
  • Assist with managing guest inquiries and feedback, maintaining the highest standards of hospitality and confidentiality.
  • Manage projects across a variety of different aspects of the restaurant, facilitating task management, deadlines, scheduling and calendars of key restaurant leaders, with efficiency and leadership styles in mind.
  • Coordinate menu updates and production for daily service,  including managing website and print menu changes.
  • Partner with Ilis’ communications team to help implement brand strategy via managing the restaurant’s social media (focus on Instagram).
  • Develop content for Ilis website, social media and newsletter, in-keeping with brand and business goals.
  • Oversee and succinctly share relevant guest feedback, including received via email and online review platforms.
  • Help ensure coordination across various areas of restaurant support, including HR, accounting, marketing and IT.
  • Coordinate restaurant-related travel; assist with travel arrangements (domestic and international) for Senior Leadership Team.
  • Manage logistics of in-restaurant events, as well as Mads’ appearances worldwide.
  • Support restaurant initiatives and business operations, liaising between  team members, vendors, and external partners.
  • Actively participate in team and external meetings, taking the lead with action items and holding team members accountable for follow through.

Compensation Details

Compensation: Salary ($55,000.00 - $65,000.00)
