We are a popular neighborhood restaurant serving Asian inspired comfort food. We are seeking an experienced head chef to lead our kitchen and put their imprint on our established concept. This is a great opportunity for an ambitious Sous ready to move up into the lead role or someone who already has Exec. experience that's looking for more creative freedom.
Responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining the consistency and deliciousness of all menu items and supporting excellence in service at all times
- Managing kitchen personnel and supervising/coordinating all related culinary activities
- Estimating food consumption and requisition or purchase food
- Selecting and developing recipes
- Standardizes production recipes to ensure consistent quality
- Establishes presentation techniques and quality standards
- Upholds proper safety and sanitation in the kitchen
Education/Experience
- 2+ years’ experience in a Culinary leadership position
- Full understanding of culinary techniques
- Excellent knife skills
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to manage and supervise
- Ability to train and teach
- Appreciation of our current context in the scope of culinary history
