The Wells is a gin speakeasy. We're looking for full and part-time bartenders with high end cocktail experience to join our team.

At The Wells, we focus on gin. We are passionate about letting the spirit speak for itself, and providing an elegant and elevated bar experience for our guests. We have a dynamic team of professionals working together to help change hospitality through integrity and grace. We are a womxn-owned and operated business, and feature womxn-owned and operated businesses in our beverage programs. We are open Tuesday through Saturday nights.  We also host a lot of events.  

We've adopted a different pay model in order to pay people a higher hourly rate that isn't reliant on gratuity.  Our model means we need responsible and organized individuals that enjoy being in service, and love making drinks. Timeliness and reliability is key to making sure the team is set up for service so the whole team can thrive. We have high standards, enjoy having fun, and value accountability, collaboration and flexibility.

Responsibilities include: 

• Service execution & support including the open and closure of the restaurant
• Cocktail development and prep
• Coaching & oversight of our team members
• Product cross-utilization & optimization in collaboration with our culinary team
• Cleanliness & ambiance maintenance of our spaces

Cocktail bartending experience and knowledge of spirts, especially gin, is required.

Our aim is to work towards a more equitable pay model in hospitality where service and kitchen team members are compensated equally on an hourly basis. In order to do this, we've developed and implemented a pay model help us change the industry.  Compensation for a bartender is $18 per hour + 8% of pooled food and beverage bar sales.  As a bartender in our space, you'll also receive a commission from our beverage cloud, 5% Cocktail Sales ÷ # of bartenders working the shift. Gratuity left by guests will be split by all front and back of house hourly team members based on hours worked.
