Five Acres is seeking a career-minded captain, who is highly motivated and passionate about hospitality. We are looking for a full time captain (4 shifts per week) averaging 30+ hours. This may be a split between AM & PM shifts.

Candidate prerequisites:

• Proficiency in steps of service
• Able and willing to work as part of a team 
• High level of interest in food & beverage 
• Experience with non-verbal communication 
• Creative and self-motivated problem solver
• Passionate about interacting with guests.

Additional requirements:

• Must be able to lift/move up to 10lbs, frequently lift/move up to 25lbs, and occasionally lift/move up to 50lbs.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Must be able to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) in English. 

Compensation Details:

• Compensation: Hourly, plus tips

Our approach is informed by the fine-dining schools from which Chef Greg Baxtrom and our team have learned, but is casual and approachable. 

Chef Greg Baxtrom’s first restaurant Olmsted was a James Beard Awards Finalist for Best New Restaurant in 2017. The owners started the NYC Hospitality Coalition, a food bank for those impacted by COVID-19, and the Black Entrepreneur Series pop-up in the space of Maison Yaki (our sister restaurant) this year.
