Sportello is seeking a Host to join the front of house team at Sportello. A modern interpretation of the classic diner, Sportello (Italian for “counter service”) offers a menu of chef Barbara Lynch’s trattoria-inspired Italian dishes Wednesday through Sunday for dinner.

The Host conducts the mood and pace of the restaurant and is expected to strike a balance between maximizing guest accommodations and maintaining the quality and standard of Sportello’s guest experience.  Prior to service, they will confirm reservations, plan the seating chart, and coordinate any special guest arrangements requested/needed for service. To succeed in this position, one must enjoy meeting new guests and nurturing existing relationships. Furthermore, one must recognize the importance of maintaining a positive, healthy, and communicative relationship with both management and the service staff. Prior host experience is preferred, but not required. Availability from 4pm but no later than 5pm is required to include weekends.
