Pomegranate Hospitality is looking for a Head Bartender to join our team of dedicated hospitality professionals for James Beard award-winning Chef Alon Shaya's modern Israeli restaurant, Safta.
Safta’s Head Bartender is responsible for upholding Pomegranate Hospitality’s Core Values while consistently executing standards and procedures of the restaurant while maintaining accountability for all team members. This role will help create and implement seasonal cocktail menus alongside the Service Leadership Team. They will also be responsible for overseeing the daily operational tasks of the bar and ensuring team members are delegated proper prep and side work. The Head Bartender will host as a primary resource for training new team members hired in the bartender role.
Expectations of the Head Bartender:
- Leadership skills – working as the head bartender requires effective leadership of the serving staff, providing them with information, encouragement, and assistance as needed.
- Social skills – the head bartender is always interacting with guests and restaurant staff and needs to be approachable, polite, and helpful
- Teaching skills - the head bartender is responsible for training new hires in the service style of the restaurant and standard operating procedures including safety and sanitation expectations. The head bartender is expected to be fully knowledgeable about all food menus, wine and bar lists. They readily share that knowledge with new servers who ask questions about describing dishes to guests, how the dishes are prepared, and any particulars about serving dishes such as table-side preparations or special utensils needed by guests.

What we hope you bring to the team:
- 5-6 years of fine dining experience as a Bartender
- Supervisor experience, a plus
- Previous Toast experience an asset
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
- Highly responsible & reliable
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment and multitask
- Ability to work cohesively with fellow employees as part of a team
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.
- Must be able to stay on feet for up to 8 hours throughout work shift
