Services include full bar, weekend brunch, Chef specials, daily lunch and dinner, and carry-out options.
Wilde Bar & Restaurant is looking for a Kitchen Manager to assist in the operations of our kitchen staff. The successful candidate will have culinary and management experience. We’re looking for a creative, motivating professional who doesn’t mind contributing to prep work or delivering food when necessary, but who won’t be afraid to delegate. You will report to the Chef and General Manager. The job requires approximately 50 - 55 hours per week including nights and weekends.
Job Skills and requirements:
- Customer-Service: Kitchen managers may have to interact with customers. Being friendly and courteous will help keep customers coming back.
- Attention to Detail: Being able to keep control on a lot of elements: food standards, costs, safety, etc.
- Leadership: Must be a leader in the back of house, rallying the team during heavy shifts, resolving conflicts and getting the job done.
- Management Skills: Kitchen managers not only deal with food, they will also deal with hiring, training, creating work schedules and more.
- Organizational Skills: Keeping work schedules, shipments, cleaning schedules and more organized is crucial to the job.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Being able to come up with a solution quickly is a needed skill.
- Speaking Skills: AKMs need to accurately and easily communicate standards and cooking methods to staff, give orders and speak with customers clearly.
- Stamina: AKMs can expect long days around hot cooking elements, much of it on their feet.
Qualifications and skills:
- 1-2 years’ culinary experience
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Capable of conducting and assessing restaurant inventoryWilling to work a flexible schedule
- Experience with delegating tasks and maintaining fast speed of service
