Tsubaki and OTOTO, a small, chef-driven, family-run Japanese izakaya and sake bar in Echo Park, seek a full-time server, with potential bartending shifts.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a full-service restaurant, knowledge of (or even just excitement about Japanese cuisine or sake!), and a great sense of teamwork. We pride ourselves on offering warm, genuine hospitality to all our guests, and have many regulars and neighborhood guests coming to see us often.

Our menu is seasonal Japanese (with an LA point of view), with a focus on local farmers market produce and both local and Japanese fish. It's a fairly small menu that changes often, with lots of chef's specials and opportunity for education around Japanese cuisine and culture. Sake knowledge is not required - we will happily teach! - but an interest in wine or other beverages is a great plus.

Both Tsubaki and OTOTO operate on a service charge model. It allows us to offer income stability and higher hourly wages to everyone on the team, those in the dining room and those in the kitchen, with the opportunity for advancement. All addiitonal tips are pooled. We also offer fully paid medical benefits after 60 days to full-time employees (25+ hours per week).
