Job Details

Restaurant Gabriel Kreuther, a Two Michelin Star restaurant and award-winning chocolate shop, is hiring a full-time Pastry Sous Chef to work in our open kitchen overlooking Bryant Park in midtown Manhattan.

Join our passionate team to execute seasonal pastry and plated desserts with state-of-the-art tools and high-volume production with an emphasis on quality and flavor. 

 RGK is the product of years of culinary partnership between Chef Gabriel Kreuther and Pastry Chef Priscilla Scaff- Mariani. Joining our team provides the opportunity to work with inventive chocolates, pastries, and seasonal plated desserts rooted in classical French technique and inspired by classic New York flavor combinations.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Hire, train, mentor, and manage a team of pastry personnel.
  • Responsibilities will encompass all elements of working with the chef to create seasonal dishes, execute a dessert menu for private dining events as well as manging service for the bar and main dining room.
  • Develop new items and maintain systems of a great functioning team

 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong personal drive, work ethic, and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Must possess strong communication and organizational skills.

 Experience:

  • Previous managerial experience highly preferred
  • NYC Food Protection Certificate highly preferred
  • Prior degree in Baking and/or Pastry from an accredited culinary university preferred
