Chef de cuisine / head chef is a crucial, hands on role, with leadership, details, cooking food to order, plate presentation, daily preparation and execution being top priorities. Ownership of BOH training, enforcement of standards, as well as involvement in food procurement, equipment maintenance and kitchen cleanliness and safety rounds out core duties. Our team of chefs are expected to communicate and cooperate in a professional and positive manner with kitchen team, front of house team members, as well as participate in strategic planning with owners, administrative and managerial team members. We are building a team of professionals with a passion for food and beverage. The chef de cuisine / head chef will work closely with the owners/wine director and front of house team in providing a superior guest experience.

QUALIFICATIONS You Bring to the Table:

Fine Dining / Italian Cuisine

  • Must have at >5 years experience to be considered.
  • Flexibility/ability to gracefully handle last minute changes.
  • Strong background in Italian regional cuisine, Italian culture, food history and/or familiarity w/slow food principles a plus.
  • Comfortable standing for long periods of time and be comfortable around hot surfaces and sharp knives.
  • Knowledge of the Italian language is a huge plus, but not necessary. 
  • Knowledge and proficiency of rules of food service sanitation and safety. 

Teamwork and Leadership

  • Passion & willingness to learn new concepts and ideas. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player attitude. 
  • During good times and especially during difficult times, come together with a can-do attitude.
  • Proven experience building, training and leading teams of professionals in the kitchen.
  • Receptive to, and responsive to feedback.

REQUIREMENTS of the Job:

  • Ideal candidate is from Veneto, Italia or must has >5 years work in a restaurant in Veneto, Italy.
  • Preferably 2-3 years previous experience at a restaurant with similar service, guest relations and operational standards 
  • Professional appearance / grooming standards appropriate for a premier fine dining restaurant
  • Full / open availability to work days, nights, weekends, holidays
  • Punctual
  • Food Cost Optimization
  • Comfortable standing for long periods of time.
  • Execute the vision of the owners
  • Languages: Italian and English
  • Valid Food Handler
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Obsessive attention to details
  • Ability to Lift 40+ lbs
  • Authorized to work in the United States
