About This Role
The Events Operations Manager actively leads by example, inspires and teaches skills that will elevate the guest experience, their teams, their restaurant, and ultimately Sunday Hospitality as a company.
The Event Operations Manager works closely with the GM, Managers and Events Team to oversee the event operations. Primary responsibilities will be focused on executing small to large events, serving as the on-site contact for events, running the event operation, setting up the space, and hiring and managing the event staff for that BEO. On the off-season of events, or during nights without any large events, this role will act as managerial support for a la carte service.
Specific job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee all events operations, including hiring and managing event staff, following run of shows, ensuring proper set ups, checking in with the kitchen, etc.
- Provides clear and concise communication to everyone involved in the event - from retaining the informtion provided in BEO, to then translating this to the staff and kitchen.

Understands the impact of event operations on the overall success of an event, and manages activities to maximize customer satisfaction
- Works with the General Manager, management team and events team to develop and execute strategies to achieve operational goals
- Work with Facilities Manager on all event set up
- Attends weekly BEO meetings & sends a recap to FOH / BOH management
- Maintains a professional demeanor when interacting with event clients
- Works with Facilities Manager to ensure that the event spaces are always clean & presentable for event walk throughs
- Participates in weekly manager meetings
- Conducts pre-shift meetings
- Assists with a la carte serve when there is a lull in scheduled events.
- Ensures the restaurant team delivers on the company's service standards; touches tables at every service to cultivate relationships and regulars
- Ensures consistent execution of food, beverage, service, and hospitality that aligns with company values
- Ensures that operational and training standards are consistently followed and executed by the entire restaurant team
What You Bring
- Minimum of 1+ years’ experience in an event management position in a full-service restaurant
- A passion for excellence in hospitality
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- NYC Food Protection Certificate (Food Handler’s) required
- Proficiency in a variety of technology systems, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and POS
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and digitally
- Ability to effectively solve and deal with a variety of changing situations under stress
- Self-driven, results-oriented, and proactive attitude
- A solid track record of leading high-caliber events
- Flexible work schedules: the ability to work night, weekends, holidays, as business permits
- The ability to lift, carry, push, or pull heavy objects, up to 50lbs
- Kneel, bend, or stoop, ascend or descend stairs; be on feet for extended periods of time
