SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the Hospitality Director, the Housekeeping Supervisor assists with daily housekeeping as needed, ensures all rooms are guest ready prior to check-in, completes daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly tasks in assigned guest rooms, and works with the maintenance technician to maintain property furnishings, room, and common area interiors to company standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
- Supervise Housekeeping team to ensure SOPs and cleanliness standards are met and upheld
- Train new team members and engage current team in a friendly and supportive manner
- Assist in daily housekeeping tasks for inn and restaurant as needed
- Ensure room readiness for guest arrival - including cleanliness, greeting cards, breakfast menus, code changes, welcome envelopes, culinary confections, and all finishing touches
- Perform deep cleaning tasks regularly as scheduled including, but not limited to; high surface, ceiling and wall dusting, window washing and window sill cleaning, maintenance of bathroom and kitchenette drains, vacuuming under beds, dressers, and in closet, deep cleaning of refrigerator and freezers, removing lint from lampshades, grout cleaning, metal polishing and removing of cobwebs and debris in rooms, bathrooms, and common areas
- Update and record all cleaned rooms to Slack
- Report necessary maintenance items to Housekeeping Maintenance and/or Hospitality Director
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and disinfection policies for COVID-19
- Maintain the privacy of all guests by ensuring that no details of the guests are disclosed to anyone outside the company
- Alert culinary/pastry/floral/beverage teams to inn needs
- Aid with laundry for inn and restaurant
- Maintain and update monthly inventory of all housekeeping and amenity supplies
- Print breakfast menus, room service menus, as needed
- Varying schedule to include holidays and extended hours as needed
- All other duties as assigned by supervisor or department manager
SKILLS / APTITUDES
- Professional communication skills are required
- English / Spanish bilingual
- Email, Google Suite competency preferred
- Ability to take and give direction
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
- Must have problem solving abilities, be self-motivated and organized
- Commitment to genuine hospitality
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous housekeeping experience an asset
- Excellent organizational skills
- Professional communication skills including proficiency in oral and written English
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
- Highly responsible & reliable
- Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Physical aspects of the position include but are not limited to the following:
- Excellent communication skills
- Constant standing and walking throughout shift
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs
- Required to stand, walk, push, pull, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach with hands and arms, handle or feel objects, and use tools.
- Frequent ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
- Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills
- Use of stairs, ladders, and step stools
