Makan, a casual Malaysian restaurant and bar in the heart of Columbia Heights is seeking a chef de cuisine. Come work and learn from chef James Wozniuk, a rising star in the DMV food scene. 

We are seeking an individual with a great attitude, high energy and a strong work ethic to join our fast-growing restaurant. 

CDC Responsibilities 

• Provide supportive leadership to kitchen staff throughout food service 
• Help with hiring and training of new kitchen staff  
• Take charge of kitchen opening, closing and other side duties
• Ensure kitchen staff adhere to set standards, procedures, department rules and sanitation requirements
• Manage kitchen inventory and ensure supplies are fresh and of high quality
• Practice strong knife skills and working knowledge of kitchen equipment such as grills, woks, ovens, steamers and warmers in food preparation

Pay Structure & Benefits 

• Total Pay Range: $90,000-100,000/year 
• 2 weeks Paid Time Off per year 
• 60% Employer-covered Medical, Dental, & Optical insurance
