Majorelle is a fine dining culinary oasis located on the Upper East Side. It is known for its classic French cuisine, old world service and extraordinary floral decor. Majorelle was named number one for Decor in Zagat's 2019 survey. Founded by renowned Restaurateur, Charles Masson, Majorelle is known for its high level of personalized service, its luxurious ambiance and classic cuisine.
The lead receptionist position would have the following prerequisites and characteristics:
-Be able to work discretely with high profile guests.
-Work well under pressure.
-Be professional and poised throughout busy service rushes.
-Recognize repeat guests and clientele, as well as their preferences.
-Be proficient in Open Table (Guest Center), and Micros.
-Be fully responsible for all POS voids, transfers, split checks, and Micros closing procedures.
-Print daily reports and e-mail them to hotel and restaurant executive committees.
-Manage coat check area, ensure hangers, coat check tickets, etc., are all set up prior to service.
-Assist Maître D’ during service to seat guests, recognize guests that are waiting in the bar area and update Open Table with the status of each table (i.e.- if they are on appetizer, main course, or dessert).
-Have basic knowledge of French Cuisine and wine.
-Be able to record messages for large events, print BEOs and assist with events.
-E-mail guests copies of receipts or other forms such as prepayment forms or reservation guarantee forms.
-Process gift card sales and redemptions.
-Answer incoming telephone calls in a prompt and professional manner and according to Majorelle standards. Record and distribute messages accurately.
-Practice complete guest service, using a warm greeting and welcoming guests with a smile. Appears and acts in a professional manner.
-Understand the mechanics of service and can arrange tables for large parties. Able to set tables in accordance with Majorelle guidelines.
-Maintain dining room, entrance (interior and exterior), desk, and restaurant throughout shift.
-Performs additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by a manager at any time.
-Interact verbally and listens attentively to guests, co-workers, and supervisors.
Majorelle is open for dinner Monday-Saturday; the schedule will be five days per week at approximately 40 hours per week. The lead receptionist will be responsible for all closing duties and checking out the waiters/service. There may be occasional need for overtime.
In addition to the hourly rate, you will also receive a share of coat check tips.
