THE ROLE
As a leader of the front of house operations, the General Manager works with the property team to communicate, drive, and measure productivity and effectiveness in achieving the overarching financial, employee, and guest satisfaction goals of Hank’s Oyster Bar, Old Town, while adhering to all Jamie Leeds Restaurant Group (JLRG) guidelines and policies.
Specifically, the General Manager is directly responsible for:
- Hiring, onboarding, and training of all managers and front of house hourly employees
- Completing and reviewing all FOH schedules and bi-weekly payroll
- Creating action plans to meet budgeted sales and net operating income
- Forecasting, monitoring, managing and tracking sales, costs, and purchases
- Handles all matters of discipline for FOH employees, in accordance with company policies and standards as outlined in the Employee Handbook
- Working various shifts to evaluate food and beverage quality, service, and staff performance
- Ensuring flawless execution of private events in conjunction with the culinary team
- Communicating to the core and property leadership teams on a daily basis
- Leading the weekly managers meeting and daily pre-shift meetings
- Participating and representing Hank’s Oyster Bar in community projects and events
- Maintaining government notice postings (licenses and certificates)
- Responding to and resolving any elevated/escalated guest issues/complaints
- Other assigned tasks as needed to drive employee and guest satisfaction
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Our ideal candidate possesses a strong knowledge of food & beverage operations and profitability with a focus on training, development, and private event execution. They are outgoing, hospitable and truly embody our guest first mentality, providing goodness to people through food and beverage.
- Minimum of 3 years of General Manager experience in a high-volume neighborhood restaurant with significant private event experience: 400-600 covers per day, 4 - 6M+ in annual sales.
- Financially literacy with experience managing restaurant budgets and analyzing weekly and monthly P&L statements
- Experience with training and on-boarding a team of 60+ individuals
- Working knowledge of the following systems: TOAST, AVERO, MarginEdge, Microsoft TEAMS
- Ability to work evenings and weekends
- This position requires one Covid vaccination prior to the first day of work, and full vaccination within 6 weeks of hire.

The employee regularly comes into contact with water, sanitation solutions, meat products, poultry products, seafood, and produce items. The employee is frequently required to wash hands. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
