Position: Executive Chef
Reports to: Culinary Director

The Event Chef is responsible for all culinary operations of special events and restaurant(s) overseeing the overall running of the kitchen and team. This role is responsible for ensuring consistency in the Mattos Hospitality’s culinary standard and culture while being an extraordinary leader. The Event Chef will oversee food production and quality output in all kitchen areas during daily service and are responsible for upholding the quality of the food and culture across catering, pre-prepared production, and dining on-site. They work to assist in building a team and culture through effectively hiring, training and mentorship, all while continually analyzing the stated standards for the purpose of elevating and developing new ones.
This role oversees and coordinates the planning, organizing, training and leadership necessary to achieve stated objectives including sales, costs, employee retention, guest services and satisfaction, food quality, cleanliness, and sanitation.
This position will work in cooperation with Front-of-House Management to ensure efficient restaurant operations
Key Focus
- Developing unique and cuisine-appropriate menus that meet quality standards of Mattos Hospitality and specific restaurant brand.
- Assist the Executive Chef with R&D for new menu items, working closely to build comprehensive menus for high quality events.
- Develops and mentors the team through training, clear staff communication, reinforcement & constructive feedback, and performance reviews .Establish and maintain kitchen operations in line with wider company culture and standards.
- Manage and report budgets for Kitchen Management.
- Be a key player in the operation Support other areas of the kitchen as needed, and be able and willing to assist in the kitchen as needed, including handling duties of other stations
