Offering highly competitive compensation packages, you will work alongside Chef Charlie Palmer & our experienced Chef Team and assist with the pastry program, along with executing menus and managing daily kitchen activities. This position is based at Dry Creek Kitchen and but is not intended to be all-inclusive. Employee may perform other related duties as negotiated to meet the ongoing needs of other F&B outlets in Hotel Healdsburg.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing sauces, batters, dough, tuile work, and garnished
- Ensure all pastry areas are clean and organized
- Prepare pastry station for dinner service: bottling sauces, cutting fruit, making garnishes, etc.
- Put finishing touches on pastries to prepare them for service
- Decorates plates for special occasions by writing in chocolate
- Ensure freshness of pastries, and rotates ensuring older product is used first
- Visually inspect food, reporting any changes in food quality
- Help educate front of house staff on menu item availability, and how to describe a plate to guests
- Able to identify ingredients in plated desserts
- Able to follow a recipe
- Maintain a regular attendance; consistently on time
- Adhere to all sanitation standards
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as pastry cook, baker or relevant role
- Has experience programming multiple F&B hotel amenities
- A passion for hospitality, baking, and the guest experience
- Ability to read and follow recipes and standards
- Strong organizational & creative problem-solving skills
- The ability to comfortably lead a team in a busy atmosphere
- Creative & Team oriented
- Fine Dining experience a plus
