Easy Company is seeking CHEF DE CUISINE for NEW WINE BAR opening at the WHARF
Better Hospitality Group (BHG) is the operating group behind three of Washington, D.C.’s most cherished neighborhood bar/restaurants: TAKODA in the capital’s bustling Shaw neighborhood, Boardwalk Bar & Arcade on the waterfront at The Wharf, and our newest TAKODA location in the Navy Yard neighborhood across the street from Nationals Park. Over the next few months, BHG will be opening a new wine bar concept, Easy Company, on the waterfront at The Wharf. BHG is the fastest growing bar/restaurant group in the Greater Washington region.
We are seeking a passionate, talented Head Chef to manage our newest project, Easy Company, a casual wine bar opening on the Wharf. Ideal Candidate is someone who can create a mentoring and nurturing atmosphere in the BOH while maintaining a strong, collaborative relationship with the FOH. The Head Chef is responsible for the overall quality and profitability of the food program. Ensures that all personnel and systems function efficiently so that guests keep coming back and employee morale is maintained. The Head Chef must work in partnership with and fully communicate with the General Manager. Experience in private events is a plus. It is important that our Head Chef understands that the quality and consistency in our food and presentation is our highest priority.
Qualified candidates will have:
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive culinary experience as an Sous Chef, Chef de Cuisine or Executive Sous Chef in full-service, high-volume restaurants.
- Actively practice food safety procedures.
- Organizational skills.
- Ability to inspire, motivate, and develop employees.
- Influential, team-oriented leadership style with a proven track record of building high-performing teams.
- Open availability including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong writing and computer skills with a degree in culinary arts from an accredited University preferred.
