Provenance is an intimate french fine dining restaurant in the heart of Philadelphia's Society Hill neighborhood. We are anticipating a fall of 2023' opening. We believe in creating a genuine relationship with our future employees based off of shared respect, goals, interests, and general vision for the hospitality industry. Candidates must be willing to engage in a series of interviews to define mutual compatibility for employment leading up to the opening of the restaurant.
Responsibilities/desired qualities include (but are not limited to):
- The General Manager will first and foremost work in tandem with chef/owner to achieve the primary goals of the restaurant.
- Leadership: Managing and coaching the FOH team that may consist of an AGM, a beverage manager, and sommelier. Responsible for coordinating and leading meetings, and keeping minutes, as well as working in concert with the chef/owner for EOD reports.
- Operations: Work in tandem with the BOH leadership to increase and maintain a consistent revenue stream without sacrificing the quality of hospitality and food, look for opportunities for growth in brand identification and special events by building rapport with guests and other prominent figures in the industry (or adjacent), think outside the box to always bring solutions to different opportunities whether guest, employee or vendor/partner facing
- Human Resources: Oversee all human resources matters in conjunction with the company’s HR Generalist with tasks involving (but not limited to) recruitment, training, scheduling, on/off-boarding, progressive discipline, retention, and more
- Financials: Cost control (COGS and labor), daily, weekly, and monthly data analyses, forecasting, and budgeting – all in tandem with ownership. Manage oversight of all financial bookkeeping and data entry.
- Facilities Maintenance: Understanding the property’s backbone and areas of repairs and routine maintenance, monitoring property’s licenses and permits to prepare for renewal as needed with the chef/owner, preparing the team for annual health inspections
- Communication: Coordinating marketing efforts looking 30 - 90 days ahead in conjunction with the chef/owner, and PR, to create proper marketing materials and schedule strategies to effectively promote restaurant operations, leading team meetings – pre-shifts to management recaps – professionally, being able to succinctly delivery the proper message to streamline communications,
- Restaurant management experience of 4+ years
- Strong interest in the F&B industry
- Ability to select and create wine lists, and establish positive relationships with F&B vendors, and importers.
- Able to prioritize and successfully accomplish multiple, ongoing workflows with great time management skills
- A keen eye for detail, a natural inclination to host, an open mind, and always up for a challenge
- Experience in new restaurant openings
