Sushi Noz's Restaurant Group " WE ALL GOTTA EAT!" is looking for a Director of Human Resources to lead our growing restaurant group. In addition to Michelin starred Sushi Noz, and Michelin starred Noz 17 our restaurant group comprises of our casual concept Noz Market as well as Eleventh Street Pizza in Miami. We are a  growing group and will be opening up another branch of our Pizza concept in Dadeland Miami within the next month as well as a Sushi Noz in Los Angeles and another fine dining concept soon to come in NYC later this year. 

As Director of Human Resources you will be responsible for directing and administering the Human Resources function in the restaurant group's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Our ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience preferably in hospitality and will require the following:
 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years Human Resources management experience preferably in hospitality operations
  • Must possess excellent knowledge of management-labor relations; the principles, practices, and procedures of Human Resources Management
  • Ability to perform the essential job functions consistent and successfully with the EEO, COBRA, TITLE VII and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards
  • Electronic employee file maintenance, onboarding and ADP upkeep
  • Ensuring the HRIS system always has the most updated policies, handbooks, SOP’s, etc.
  • All other administrative assistance to keep our team organized and efficient.
  • Build positive working relationships with employees at all levels within the organization

PAYROLL

  • Manage and run reports through the HRIS system as requested by HR, Payroll and management.
  • Manage with the support of the payroll team, completing and responding to multi-state unemployment claim forms.
  • Manage internal PTO and deduction spreadsheets.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Director of Human Resources will be accountable for all aspects of HR administration with a strong focus on compensation and benefits, total culture enhancement, talent management, safety, compliance and training & development
  • Assists executive management in the annual review, preparation and administration of the Company’s wage and salary program
  • Ensures compliance with key policies (e.g., Sexual Harassment, Non-Harassment, Non- Discrimination, No Solicitation)
  • Ensures wages are paid in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and federal and state laws (e.g., employee pay for meeting attendance, wages limited to maximum rate of pay, entry level rates paid to new hires, overtime provisions in place, separation pay)
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions
  • Oversees the management of Workers Compensation claims to ensure appropriate employee care and costs management
  • Follows all company and safety and security policies and procedures; ensures timely reporting of accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to insurance as well as managers/chefs
  • Establish “Open Door Policy” with employees to ensure the atmosphere is one of management involvement
  • Responsible for the upkeep and organization of employee electronic files both terminated and active (Employee and Benefit Folders).
  • Assists management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating and coaching employees
  • Ensures the open position listing is in a visible location for both internal and external candidates and in appropriate venues to attract a diverse candidate pool
  • Oversees the selection and offer processes for management and hourly employees to ensure proper procedures are followed (e.g., valid reasons for selection/non-selection are documented, applicants receive status notifications)
  • Provides an overview of employee benefits to the management team enabling them to educate their employees and answer routine questions
  • Ensures effective employee communication channels are established 
  • Investigates problems, such as: working conditions, disciplinary actions, and employee and applicant appeals and grievances
  • According to circumstances, provides guidance and recommendations for problem resolution to departmental officials and individuals
  • Consults with legal counsel as appropriate, and/or as directed the executive team on personnel matters
  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures the Company’s compliance
  • Prepares comprehensive reports and represent ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Maintains confidentiality of proprietary information
  • Encourages and enforces a positive work environment





Compensation Details

Compensation: Salary ($80,000.00 - $110,000.00)
