The Ivory Peacock is based in the Nomad area of Manhattan and is a cocktail-driven bar and lounge wit ha large gin collection, signature martinis and rotating signature cocktails. The program is anchored by a beautiful bar that originally opened in 1889 that pairs perfectly an extensive spirits collection including the largest collection of gin in the United States.
We are seeking highly creative and entrepreneurial bartenders to join the team and lead the operational and creative charge with helping the vision of the space translate to the glass and beyond.
Our bars are technically designed by Tobin Ellis with equal stations across our four bars, and are geared towards charging toward's the top industry accolades with World's 50 Best Bars.
Specifically, we are looking for talent who aspire to and/or have worked in NYC's most unique, fast-paced and best cocktail bars and lounges. You will work hand-in-hand with the Bar leadership team on the conception and actualization of our growing beverage operation, with growth potential as the Dandy portfolio grows to multiple bars in the near future.
Key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Follow creative direction and costing parameters to develop seasonal, special and signature cocktails, and beverage experiences
- Push the boundaries of creativity and keep the north star of the best bars of the world as the target mark for success
- Proactively participate in bar and bartender contests, promotions and awards opportunities
- Study, grow, maintain and master all of The Ivory Peacock service and beverage standards
- Master the production and create the specs for all Ivory Peacock signature cocktails
- Crelate efficiency with garnishes and assembly of traditional cocktails and beverage items
- Participate in all of the company training requirements
- Properly represent the company in appearance and in actions
- Demonstrate a passion and willingness for excellence in performance
- Greeting guests in a timely and professional manner
- Explain the contactless ordering and payment features of the restaurant
- Engage guests in a consistent, clear and warm way, all equally
- Guiding guests through the dining experience by providing details of our food and beverage products
- Understanding and implementing product salesmanship throughout the guest experience
- Ensure that all of the items delivered at the bar meets standards
- Properly delegate tasks to your support staff
- Seek creative opportunities to enhance the overall guest experience
- Complete all assigned side work duties for the shift
- Maintaining the highest safety, cleanliness and sanitation standards
- Participate in ongoing staff testing or continuing education activities provided by company
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience bartending in an upscale, high-volume bar; strong preference for candidates who have worked at a leading cocktail-focused bar
- Extensive knowledge about balanced cocktail development, with a passion for gin
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- A creative passion for quality in cocktail and serviced (both)
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to stand, lift and bend for extended periods of time
- Must be able to bend and lift to 50 lbs.
- Role may include job duties or tasks requiring repetitive motion, movement and navigation throughout a bilevel venue
- Exposure to hot kitchen elements, raw foods, and/or cleaning materials.
- Must be able to remain focused in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule inclusive of varying shifts such as days, evenings, weekends and holidays
