Job Summary: The Banquet Server will provide prompt and efficient service to the members & guests during banquet events. We are seeking a friendly and courteous individual who will uphold our core values. Supervision Received From: F&B Supervisor or Catering Manager on duty
Pay: Hourly Non-Tipped
Interview Process: Pre-screening calls will take place late February 2023. Then a final interview with the hiring manager on-site March 2023.
Responsibilities:
- Greets and acknowledges the member/guest with a smile and eye contact.
- Addresses the member by name; displays utmost respect, courtesy, and politeness.
- Attentive to the needs of all members and guests by providing them with great service. Serves all food and beverage according to the standards set forth by the Club.
- Gathers and transports all supplies needed for the set-up of a function including but not limited to, silver, china, linen skirts, glassware, condiments, AV, etc.
- Assist in setting up buffet tables in accordance the standards of service.
- Properly set all tables, side stands and back of the house areas for functions for efficiency.
- Ensures all tables and chairs are set and the space is clean and neat prior to leaving for the shift.
- Banquet menu comprehension: the ability to recite.
- Understands and to communicates dietary restrictions.
- Inputs food order into POS System and assures accuracy of entry.
- Anticipates and recognizes the needs of the guest and the timing of each course.
- Sets-up, maintains and breaks down a bar or beverage station as necessary.
- Transports liquor, wine, beer, soda, juice, condiments, non-food items, and glassware.
- Recognizes and reports potentially intoxicated or disruptive guest to manager on-site.
- Fully aware of sanitation practices of handling food, beverage, dining equipment and supplies.
- Attend and participate in all required team meetings.
- Completes any reasonable tasks as assigned to by management.
Requirements:
- Read, write, and understand English is required
- Food Handler & Basset certifications are required
- At least 1 year experience in a fine dining serving role
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be friendly, approachable and takes initiative
- Must be able to work alone or in a team as needed
- Must be able to communicate professionally with members, guests, and co-workers
- Must be able to understand how to use a computer/POS system
Physical Demands:
- Be able to stand for the duration of the shift, at time up to 8 hours
- Must be able to lift trays of food and push carts up to 30lbs
- Must be able wear required uniform
- Must be able to work in a noisy environment
- Must be able to use both hands to operate necessary tools and equipment
- Must be able to stay calm in a busy and high stress situation
- Must be able to multitasks and prioritize the workload alone or in a team setting
- Must be able to work in a variable temperate work environment
